Captivating adaptation of the classic for the younger child。 My nine year old and I loved it。。。。couldn't stop reading! Only one possible wonderful introduction to the great Charles Dickens。 Captivating adaptation of the classic for the younger child。 My nine year old and I loved it。。。。couldn't stop reading! I enjoyed reading this with two of my younger boys。 They were really touched and we had some great discussions。 Joe was my favorite character。

This was a terrible abridged/simplified version, but at least I now know the main story and characters。

We read this aloud to our children and I was impressed with how true it remained to the original。 There were a few facets and characters which were left out (as would be expected by a 100 page large type adaptation), but the cadence and feeling of the words remained intact。 This is a great introduction to Dicken's Great Expectations, but by no means a substitute for the classic。 We read this aloud to our children and I was impressed with how true it remained to the original。 There were a few facets and characters which were left out (as would be expected by a 100 page large type adaptation), but the cadence and feeling of the words remained intact。 This is a great introduction to Dicken's Great Expectations, but by no means a substitute for the classic。 。。。more
